"Fill the skies with lead, as long as we take down the Crown and his mercenaries, we will reclaim this war!"
― Dejanus Captain
The battleship sinking
The Dejanus, along with the rest of the 1st Battlegroup, entered the CascadianConflict in the afternoon of February 21, AC 432, quickly occupying Presidia[1] and was on station there for most of the war for supply and capital reinforcing.
The 1st Battlegroup was sent into battle with the Eminent Domain and its own fleet in the Pacific Ocean upon the start of Operation Welder on August 12. Its captain, a warhawk intent on taking down Monarch and his mercenaries to secure the war for the Federation, kept a tight formation and openly belayed Captain Woodward's surrender plea, and planned to create an AA stream too strong for the mercenaries to survive.
The Federation sailors unfortunately became struck down by mercenary reinforcements, and the Dejanus Captain's littoral combat ships couldn't delay the Cascadian Independence Force naval group pushing through. The battleship itself was heavily flooded in Sections D and F and its captain ordered aft relief ports opened to make a last stand. The hull combusted and weapon systems were the next to go near the battle's end, thus evacuations were conducted for non-combat sailors. The Federation flagship was out of commission with the rest of its battlegroup.[2]
