The Commander was asleep when the region fell under solo attack by the mercenary pilot Monarch. When one of the defense clusters were lost, the Commander was woken up and informed of the damage dealt to their facilities. He soon recognized the lone attacker as a mercenary, reasoning by the different engine sounds caused by imported fuel.
When all the defenses were destroyed singlehandedly, the Commander ordered an evacuation and informing regional HQ of Monarch's insane abilities.
