Pacific Ocean
The Pacific Ocean is a large body of water and one of the few places to keep its name prior to the Calamity.
Geography
The ocean is situated between the Pacific Federation and Cascadia, with Sawaiiki in the middle as a strategic location.
The lack of updated maps on the ocean along with latent geothermal activity makes travel over this ocean hazardous. The ocean is dotted with numerous new and undiscovered microislands and landmasses. As research into deepwater hazards is still a new field, traveling vessels often make it through the aforementioned hazards by following the path of geothermally evolved whales.[1]
History
In AC 432 during the Cascadian Conflict, Cascadian Independence Force-aligned mercenary forces flew across the ocean to attack Wai Mami Port.[2] Later on into the war, the Cascadian Coast Guard fought a major battle here with the Pacific Federation's 1st Naval Battlegroup to pave the way for the liberation of Presidia, their capital.[3]
Trivia
The given coordinates place Operation Welder's mission location near San Francisco, which Presidia is based on.
