Sumeria is a Middle Eastern nation, famous as the cradle of the human race.
History
At some point before the Cascadian Conflict, Sumeria suffered a destructive flood. Cascadia sent disaster relief engineers to rebuild the country.[1]
Etymology
Sumeria refers to Sumer, the earliest known human civilization, which is located in present-day Iraq. The flooding could be a reference to the Sumerian creation myth, which involved a divine flood to destroy humankind.
Behind the scenes
When questioned on Sumeria's naming choice in the face of more contemporary and common names, Matthew Nguyen stated "why not" and that he had interest in keeping the Iraq name.[2]
