Briefing

AWACS | Vita: K-9, your orders have come through. In the week since Cascadia has made landfall, they've been able to push well into Magadan, cutting off any communication we have to the coast. Ground reservists have done their best to slow the offensive down, but without a proper counterattack, the frontline will never be stabilized. With the bulk of the Federation Military in Asia about to redeploy to assist Magadan, we have to set up the tactical situation in such a way that this doesn't turn into a meatgrinder. We have designated this spot outside the city of Tseliadan as where we can break the enemy line. As we speak, a bomber squadron from Victoria in the Core Federation is on its way to break their offensive. K-9, your direct objective today is to suppress the enemy air defenses behind their lines that are keeping the Cascadian frontline stable. Once those air defenses are taken out, you will then task to cover the main bomber strike force to take out the main Cascadian FOB. You can expect heavy enemy anti-air yourself as you strike their positions, but we have confidence in your abilities. Get to your planes, dismissed.

Mission Start

Federation Bomber: 303rd Bomber Squadron White on station.
AWACS | Vita: 303, stand by, SEAD aircraft are beginning their mission now.
Federation Bomber: K-9, good to see you, our mission brief said you're punching above your weight, your flight lead especially... Don't take too long, we don't have the fuel to loiter.
K-9D | Brick: Our flight lead's pretty good, but we're literally the bottom, don't know if that's an accurate compliment.
!!! STAY LOW !!!
Enemy territory is saturated with SAM sites. Adjust your flying style accordingly.
AWACS | Vita: All elements are in position, begin the operation. 303, be advised the Lanzelet will be linking up with you on the way.
Federation Bomber: Copy all.
K-9B | Bookie: If it's something I won't miss when we're done here, it’ll be how much our higher-ups won't tell us... Lanzelet?
AWACS | Vita: Not your concern yet, Bookie. K-9, engage at will.
K-9B | Bookie: Bookie engaging as fragged.
K-9C | Cobb: Cobb engaging.
K-9D | Brick: Brick. Here we go.
AWACS | Vita: Driver, engage.

Mercenary Pilot (Male): We've got leakers coming from due west, looks like the rest of the Federation's been finally waking up.
Cascadian Marines (Male): We're one of the most forward units, if we lose our momentum, this invasion stalls!

AWACS | Vita: Main targets are the AA clusters, once they're down, the 303 will send strategic packages behind you before the main show.

Cascadian Marine Officer: Looks like the flashpoint is now. Mobilize the battle plan immediately, we need to get into the city before their bombers get through.

Federation | Officer (Provisional): Looks like K-9 Is back. E-6 Actual to all defenders of Tseliadan, get to your post and get guns up.
Federation Ground Forces: The enemy is moving in now!

Cascadian Marines (Male): This city is the hedge, we need to solidify ourselves here in Magadan!

Mercenary Pilot (Female): Leakers identified as fighters, let's go get 'em, boys.
AWACS | Vita: K-9, incoming interceptors. Stay on mission.

Cascadian Marines (Male): Gunners, get set!
K-9C | Cobb: Huh...this isn't too far from where I live.

Mercenary Pilot (Male): Harpy, take your group and deal with the fighters. Everyone else, stick to your defense sector.
Mercenary Ace (Female): Time to put these pups down.
K-9B | Bookie: On you, Driver, we'll be your backup.

Mercenary Pilot (Female): Show no mercy.

Cascadian Marines (Male): Incoming, incoming! Adjust the SAMs from high altitude to point defense!

Federation Bomber: We didn't come all the way up from Kowloon to just get shot down over territory that's supposed to be ours.

Federation | Officer (Provisional): Hold the line, as soon as K-9 cleans up the AA, the bombers will move in!

Cascadian Marines (Male): Skirmishes have begun, we are currently engaged with the city's defenders!
Cascadian Marine Officer: Roger all, stay low, the Feds have got the upper positions on us from the office buildings.

Federation | Officer (Provisional): What's gonna make this battle is whether or not those bombs drop above.
Federation Ground Forces: It's Division K, I got a good feeling about this.

K-9D | Brick: What idiot sends aircraft against anti-aircraft guns?!

K-9C | Cobb: Don't get tied up dogfighting, we have to take down all the anti-air.

Mercenary Pilot (Male): Every last one of them, take them down!

AWACS | Vita: Contacts are coming from vectors ranging 010 to 130, keep looking east.

Cascadian Marine Officer: We can't afford to swap over all the AA to taking on fighters...that'll just open us up to the bombers if they come through.

Federation | Officer (Provisional): That artillery group from Kanto just showed up, get their guns up and start fire missions into their line. Just anything, disrupt whatever they're doing.

Cascadian Marines (Male): [grunts] I thought we had air control!

K-9D | Brick: This is how I die, frickin' telephone pole right through my face.

Cascadian Marines (Male): They're coming straight for us!

Mercenary Pilot (Male): This shouldn't be that hard, they're just four planes!
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Well, they're biting back, you try lining up a shot!
Mercenary Pilot (Male): What do you think I'm doing?!

Mercenary Pilot (Male): That type of flying is real interesting, ain't it?
Mercenary Pilot (Female): Shut up and engage, they're coming in hot.

K-9C | Cobb: Go back to your country!
K-9B | Bookie: Real ace behavior right there.
K-9C | Cobb: Ah shut up, if I'm really an ace, then the Federation has bigger problems!

Cascadian Marines (Male): We're trying to set up the HSAMs, but the artillery from the Feds are making it hard to get a good concentration, we'll still have to rely on the merc pilots.
Cascadian Marine Officer: Damn it...can we have a single victory without that being true?

Federation Bomber: Never thought I'd be dropping bombs on the Federation itself.
Federation Bomber: Strange times indeed.

Sanitize air defenses (Phase 1)

AWACS | Vita: K-9, keep on the pressure.
K-9D | Brick: Driver, it's up to you, we're tied up here!

Cascadian Marines (Male): Throw them up in volleys, they can't dodge them all!
Cascadian Marines (Male): You idiot, where's the AA if they attack us?

Cascadian Marines (Male): They don't even have an emblem, it's just K-9.
Cascadian Marines (Male): Federation dogs.

K-9B | Bookie: I've got missiles the size of telephone poles going right past me!

Federation Ground Forces: Heavy fighting has started along our frontlines, the Cascadians are trying to force a breakthrough into Tseliadan.
Federation | Officer (Provisional): Keep them out, we need to box them in for those bombers.

Federation | Officer (Provisional): Did we make sure all of the civilians are evacuated?
Federation Ground Forces: We got as many out on our section of Highway 1.
Federation | Officer (Provisional): Any more refugees from their side?
Federation Ground Forces: Nothing.

Mercenary Pilot (Male): How many from Rowsdower came up? We're going to need more planes at this rate.

Cascadian Marines (Male): If we don't stop those bombers and push into that city, it's going to be a killing field out here!

Cascadian Marines (Male): Enemy fighters approaching! [grunts] What good are the mercs if we don't have air superiority?!

Cascadian Marines (Male): Shoot, shoot, up above!

Sanitize air defenses (Phase 2)

AWACS | Vita: All enemy AA saturated and probing strikes are underway. 303, vector toward the main firebase and begin mission taskings. Airship Lanzelet, fall into formation.
Federation | Airship Lanzelet: All hands, battlestations. Sorry we're late, we ran into a few mercs on the way over.
AWACS | Vita: K-9, your mission tasking is now to escort the bombers.
K-9D | Brick: Jeez, I thought these things were big from the ground.
Federation Bomber: 303 on the move, form around the Lanzelet.
K-9C | Cobb: My entire goddamned life is just babysitting, isn’t it? Driver, we'll follow your lead.
Mercenary Ace (Male): Sorry we're late, Kaiser's goons were hogging the runway. All mercenaries, take down those bombers, the Cascadians can't pay us if they're dead.

K-9B | Bookie: Give the bombers room to breathe, we don't want to ram right into them.

Federation Bomber: What is this, the Unification War?! I can't believe they're getting fighters close enough for our turret gunners!
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Woah, where'd that airship come from?! I thought the Feds had all of them deployed elsewhere?!

Federation | Airship Lanzelet: Seems like we picked the right time to have been in Daegu for refit and rearm, fire as they bear.

Mercenary Pilot (Male): Concentrate all firepower on that airship, the bombers are bad, but that'll be worse if it drops its payload.

K-9B | Bookie: Hey, what's that in that all the way out there? 010.
K-9D | Brick: Yeah, I see it, looks like cordium burnoff. Vita, what's up?
AWACS | Vita: Geothermal signatures have been steadily rising in the week since the Cascadians landed, it has to be the results of the Cascadians wrecking our energy infrastructure behind their lines.
K-9C | Cobb: Oh, I get it, the second the Cascadians start kicking over geothermal production, the Federation kicks it into high gear.

Mercenary Pilot (Male): Call in everyone and everything!
Federation | Airship Lanzelet: Steady as she goes!

Federation Bomber: Stay close to the Lanzelet, it's got more firepower than this entire formation combined!

Cascadian Marines (Male): Sir, one Littoria-Type inbound on our position with that bomber formation!
Cascadian Marine Officer: Have we made any progress on the city?
Cascadian Marines (Male): Negative, defenders are holding strong.
Cascadian Marine Officer: [groans] Shit...get my RTO, I need to radio Faust.

Bombers reach FOB

Federation Bomber: Cascadian FOB is in range, master arm on on all ordnance.
Federation | Airship Lanzelet: Lanzelet beginning descent to orbit point.

AWACS | Vita: All bomber units, ordnance away.

Federation Bomber: Bombs away, bombs away!
Cascadian Marine Officer: Everyone, get to cover!
Cascadian Marines (Male): We're screwed, we're absolutely-
K-9C | Cobb: Woah.
Federation Bomber: Good effect on target.
Federation Ground Forces: They've lost their backline!
Federation | Officer (Provisional): Go, push while the bombs are falling!

Federation Bomber: 303 has expended all ordnance, we're RTB, K-9 gets the scraps.
AWACS | Vita: Copy. K-9, clean up the mess.
Federation Bomber: Driver, thanks for keeping us alive.
Federation | Airship Lanzelet: Lanzelet descending below the cloud layer. All gunners cleared to engage all hostiles; 105s, 37s, miniguns, AA, AGMs, and railguns are cleared hot!

Federation | Airship Lanzelet: On the way!

Cascadian Marines (Male): By the Dust, where'd that thing come from?!
Cascadian Marine Officer: Get your head out of your ass! Anyone who's still alive, roll out the anti-airship measures.

K-9D | Brick: Let them concentrate on the airship, we'll mop up the rest.
K-9B | Bookie: Come on, Driver, let's get in there.

Cascadia HQ | General Faust: You had one directive: If you could not push up, you had to at least hold...I am trying to secure Cascadia's future!

Cascadian Marines (Male): The Feds are pushing our lines?! Where's our reinforcements?!
Cascadian Marines (Female): They all got taken out at the FOB.

Cascadian Marines (Male): What are the mercs doing?!
Cascadian Marines (Male): Dead, they all threw themselves at the bombers!
Cascadian Marines (Male): We can't stay here!

Federation | Officer (Provisional): Not so easy now, is it?! Take them while they're shocked! You servile scum!

Cascadian Marines (Female): I don't think we're just dealing with reservists anymore.

K-9B | Bookie: Just like the Academy...
K-9C | Cobb: No, it's easier, we're not being graded.

Cascadian Marines (Male): [pants] I repeat, we lost all of our fire support, this attack is untenable!
Cascadian Marines (Male): Fall back!
Cascadian Marines (Male): We can't fall back, their planes are behind us!

Neutralizing FOB

MISSION COMPLETE
AWACS | Vita: Enemy forces are no factor, their frontline has been broken.
Federation | Officer (Provisional): [laugh] They've done it again, those sly dogs! Push the counterattack and secure that firebase!
Federation Ground Forces: That is if there's anything left... Bravo Company, let's move out.
AWACS | Vita: K-9, RTB, ground forces will take care of the rest. And more than that...
Federation Pilot (Male): Lazuli Squadron on station for relief.
K-9C | Cobb: You're kidding me. You regular forces?
Federation Pilot (Male): Fresh from Wilhelm, now get behind the line, reservists, we've got top cover for the rest of the day.
K-9C | Cobb: Fine by me!

Debriefing

AWACS | Vita: With the Tseliadan frontline broken, regular military forces are now using the city as a jumping-off point to press back counteroffensives.
K-9C | Cobb: That's great to hear, are we relieved?
AWACS | Vita: Not quite yet, these counteroffensives are meant to relieve pressure elsewhere, even if there was a victory today, understand that we are not yet at full operational capacity and the Cascadians are beginning to dig in; K-9, you're still on the hook. Get some rest, though, we'll need you up soon.
