"Consequence of Power" is the fifteenth mission of Project Wingman. The player supports an offensive to attempt the retaking of Prospero for Cascadia.

Objectives

The player is presented with a range of air targets. None are marked as PRIORITY, so the player may simply fly around engaging enemies at will. Two landed 205s in the harbor can be easily sunk for credits.

Once most enemies are shot down, after some brief dialogue, a large number of cruise missiles appear sequentially. Compared to the ones on Mission 7, these missiles are far more agile and durable. A number of additional enemy planes will takeoff as well. The player can attempt to shoot some of these down, but ultimately, the mission ends the same way regardless of the player's actions.

Mercenary difficulty

No change.

Trivia

  • The briefing, debriefing, and even mission select screens will be flickering constantly (or, for the briefing intro, greyed out) starting with this mission, as a reflection of the Cascadian Calamity Event's comms disruption effects. Additionally, new geothermal hotspots will be marked on both the menu and briefing maps.
  • Due to scripting dictating all NPC units in the area being killed instantly, your wingmen will be shown exploding and going down for no reason despite them surviving the Calamity event.
  • This is one of the four missions in the campaign that ends with "Mission Over" instead of "Mission Complete," the others being Sirens of Defeat, Wayback, and Presidia.
  • This mission is similar to "The Stage of Apocalypse" from Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War as they feature a federal military setting off weapons of mass destruction in their own territory to deny the opposition's advance. Both missions are even set in early June and end with the player AWACS musing the country they are in "had gone insane."
  • This is one of the five missions in the campaign with a prominent background air raid siren, the others being Sirens of Defeat, Machine of the Mantle, Valkyrie's Call, and Presidia.
  • As of Patch 2.0.11, "Federation Commander" has been changed to "Federation Officer," "Federation Peacekeeper" to "Federation Peacekeeper | Commander," and "Allied Spotter" to "Cascadian Fire Mission Spotter."
