"Presidia" is the twentieth and penultimate campaign mission of Project Wingman. The player leads the retaking of the titular Cascadian capital to end the Cascadian Conflict.

Objectives

The PRIORITY targets in the first phase consist of bunkers, artillery, SAMs, and a railgun. Optional targets include fighters, SAMs, and AA guns; these will persist into subsequent phases if not destroyed, so it is recommended to shoot them down first.

The second phase is air-to-air, facing off against a large number of fighters and a couple of airships. More air defenses will appear in Presidia as well and can be destroyed for more points. Once they are dealt with, a second wave comprised of a 205 and a squadron of Sk.37 Decimator-Bs will appear.

In the third phase, the remaining Federation ships move out of port, including an aircraft carrier, a battleship, and several cruisers.

The fourth and final phase requires the player to destroy SAMs, AA guns, and artillery. These are placed around and on Presidia's towers and require approaching at the right angles to hit. P.28 helicopters are optional targets.

Once all four phases are complete, after some lengthy dialogue, the player is swarmed by missiles for about 20 seconds. All of them are relatively harmless and will almost certainly miss the player. The mission ends shortly thereafter.

Behind the scenes

Jose Pavli stated this mission to be his favorite.[1]

Trivia

  • Kaiser's first line in this mission is a reference to writer Ilya Ehrenburg's quote "Do not count the days, do not count the miles. Count only the Germans you have killed.", which is also heard in Call of Duty: Finest Hour.
  • This mission is one of the four in the campaign that ends with "Mission Over" instead of "Mission Complete," the others being Sirens of Defeat, Consequence of Power, and Wayback.
  • Despite the establishment that Presidia is the last Federation stronghold in Cascadia, the briefing map shows no territorial change from the previous mission.
  • This is one of the five missions in the campaign with a prominent background air raid siren, the others being Sirens of Defeat, Machine of the Mantle, Valkyrie's Call, and Consequence of Power.
  • As of Patch 2.0.11, "Allied Unit" has been replaced with "Cascadian Ground Unit," "Federation Defense Unit" to "Federation Remnant," and "Federation Capital" to "Federation | Crystal Kingdom." "Federation PA" is also spelled out.
