The Project Wingman Original Soundtrack is the official soundtrack of Project Wingman, composed by Jose Pavli and produced by Neïwa Interactive. The soundtrack was released as a standalone product on December 1, 2020, featuring 40 tracks used in the game and trailers. All of these tracks are played randomly in Conquest mode. The Frontline-59 expansion brought up the number to 58, almost befitting the name.

According to Pavli, his main inspirations for the soundtrack and leitmotifs are Nier: Automata (as revealed in his "Making of" videos), Attack on Titan, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Gundam (specifically Hiroyuki Sawano's tracks). He denies Assassin's Creed as one despite the similarities.[1]

Months later, Pavli published a two-part video concerning the behind-the-scenes production of the soundtrack.

An orchestra comprising a number of tracks from the soundtrack was scheduled to be released in March 2022; recording in London had completed, being done by Ronnie McQuillan.[2] The orchestral choir would be singing in the Cascadian language, which Pavli and Matthew Nguyen worked on, and their actual lyrics and translation are kept secret.[3] A majority of the titles were decided by Nguyen and Abi Rahmani.[4] When questioned on the orchestral variants' inclusion in the game, Pavli stated no existing tracks would be replaced regardless of the way it is implemented.[5]

The orchestra was eventually released on May 20 after two months of publishing, metadata, mix adjustment, color grading, and other necessary tweaks. The thumbnail and gameplay shown in the video were done by Sector D2 themselves. It was performed by the London Pops Orchestra, recorded at AIR Studios by Jeremy Murphy, mixed and mastered by Christian Gazczuck and Pavli himself, directed by Quentin Poole, and contracted by Guy Button. Its scoring was assisted by Quentin Poole, edited by Filip Sijanec, and prepared by Thibault Chavanis. Eloisa-Fleur Thom performed the solo violin, Tetsuumi Nagata the solo viola, Jonny Byers the solo cello, Lucy Knight the solo soprano, Mike Lovatt the solo trumpet, and Martin Robertson the Duduk/Turkish clarinet.

  • On December 5, 2020 on the track's upload in Pavli's YouTube channel, a commenter pointed out similarities between this track and the song "Alien Manifestation" by Keigo Hoashi & Keiichi Okabe from the soundtrack of Nier: Automata. Pavli responded to the comment acknowledging the influence, adding that they initially wanted to replace the track, but decided keep it in-game because of much positive player feedback.

  • A fan noticed that the track started with A minor and modulated to C minor, then E minor., and that they consist the track's only keys, spelling out "ACE." Pavli stated this was the track's "ultimate secret" and commended the fan for finding it.[9]
  • Matthew Nguyen surmised the track represents the flight genre's protest against the ending and its subversion of the typical upbeat note; "the world goes insane"[10]
  • Pavli confided on October 16, 2023 on the "FRONTLINE59" YouTube video page that his macOS burned out while making this track; he used a replacement for Frontline-59's soundtrack.
"Coronation"/31 2:40 Mission 21 fourth phase Last five notes (theme of freedom) do not play in-game; Pavli stated he and Rahmani decided to leave them out to convey the absence of victory/freedom in the ending[11]

  1. Many yes, but not Assassin's Creed. Attack on Titans, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Sawano's work on Gundam were probably the top 3 influences. -Discord statement by Jose Pavli, January 5, 2023, 5:17 AM
  2. going back to London to mix it in a week, then it will be a matter of days before we release the tracks. End of the month is still what we are aiming at -Discord statement by Jose Pavli, March 9, 2022, 10:02PM
  3. They are singing in Cascadian, actual lyrics yeah We worked a bit on that with Matt for the lyrics. But only for the lyrics, nothing more As far as I know Nope I don’t think we are going to release them unfortunately -Discord statement by Jose Pavli- March 19, 2022, 12:16AM
  4. RB and Matt are responsible for most of the titles -Discord statement by Jose Pavli, December 2, 2020, 5:06PM
  5. Separate I think. Don't know if they will be implemented in the game in any way, but they won't replace existing tracks for sure. -Discord statement by Jose Pavli, February 2, 2022, 2:05 AM
  6. I came up with Magma Carta as one of the last decisions made pre-release -Discord statement by Matthew Nguyen, February 25, 2021, 1:03 PM
  7. Those are just 15 secs little tracks that couldn't fit in the OST unfortunately. They were made later on when Arby figured out we should give a sense of danger before Crimson appears. So I made them later on, they are not part of the tracks -Discord statement by Jose Pavli, December 11, 2020, 7:15PM

  10. If all the other Ace Combat finale songs are of victory and triumph, Kings is about failure Invoking death of the author, Kings is literally the world breaking apart, it is the genre screaming against you saying "this isn't right" -Discord statement by Matthew Nguyen, October 1, 2022, 4:09M
  11. This is the theme for "Freedom" as said in the making of videos. At the end of the game, you're everything but free, cause you didn't really won This is a discussion we had with RB about whether we wanted the notes at the end or not. I personally wanted them in, but he told me he liked it better without. So both work -Discord statement by Jose Pavli, April 28, 2022, 1:36 PM
  12. Not at all It's not Spanish guitars, just normal classical guitars -Discord statement by Jose Pavli, October 9, 2023, 7:50 PM
  13. Yeah it's well edited! A Distant Deal was clearly made for that mashup -Discord statement by Jose Pavli, October 13, 2023, 2:50 AM
