The F/E-4 is a starter-level two-seat strike aircraft.

While its mobility is mediocre in most respects (other than roll rate), it can carry a modest payload of air-to-air missiles along with a choice of bombs or Heavy Gunpods.

History

Sicario deployed an F/E-4 in Operation Red Current, facing off against the five which the Burlok Privateers employed.[1]

During the Cascadian Conflict, the Federation deployed six F/E-4s to defend the Apodock Fracture from mercenary attack.[2] They also sent a pair of F/E-4s in the pursuit of the stolen FNS Jerusalem, both of which were downed by Hitman Team.[3]

The Federation scrambled at least another F/E-4 pair to the Bering Strait during Operation Guillotine, which ended up being among the hundreds of aerial losses they suffered that day.[4] Another pair was on patrol in the ruins of Prospero when Hitman shot them down along with the other patrols in Operation Recall.[5]

Four F/E-4s defended Presidia during its attempted liberation, which were likewise downed.[6]

Trivia

The Navy tailcodes on the Federation skins contrast the real-life F-4E Phantom II, which is used by the Air Force. This might be a reference to the Ace Combat franchise where the F-4E is often incorrectly treated as a naval carrier-borne aircraft.
