Briefing
AWACS | Vita: The situation in the last week has been deteriorating rapidly since your activation; as the Federation has begun to reorganize in light of its airpower losses over the Bering Strait, Cascadia and its mercenary forces, knowing that we're at our weakest, have sought out to do the unthinkable: A fleet of warships has gathered up and set sail for Magadan. Despite the fact we are still engaged within Cascadia, the Cascadians have been able to rally their own navy and merchant marine to launch a full-scale invasion. With only one day's notice, we've activated the Ground Reserve Divisions and have begun to fortify likely landing zones. K-9, you are needed in the air immediately to cripple the enemy landing operations. We don’t know how long we can keep up a direct defensive confrontation; however, if we can give the Cascadians a black eye as they come in, it'll give the Federation more time to rally troops. We need you up there...dismissed.

Mission Start
AWACS | Vita: The Cascadians have already started their invasion, defense operations are now underway.
Federation Defenses (Male): ISR counts 323 Cascadian ships, non-uniform, with the first wave consisting of 50. We can expect reasonably at least 50,000 troops in total, with more on the way if they secure the beachhead. Their air cover composition is also non-uniform: Mercenaries.
Federation Ground Reserve CO: The most bloodthirsty army on Earth and their mercenaries vs. us...a few companies of reservists. What do you think about those odds, Sergeant?
Federation Defenses (Male): Depends on whether or not our air cover is any good.
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Mark time...12 noon, begin the defensive operations. Pax Federation.
Cascadian Marines (Male): Mercs have the air, we've got the ground, we're gonna make the Federation pay for Presidia!
AWACS | Vita: K-9, engage.
K-9C | Cobb: How the hell did the Cascadians get an invasion fleet in less than a week?
K-9D | Brick: Half of Northern Cascadia is either in the cargo or fishing biz, they got the boats, trust me.
AWACS | Vita: That fleet has way too much concentrated firepower, K-9, advise you stay behind the red line indicated on your radar, concentrate on providing support to the defenses as they engage the landing forces.
K-9B | Bookie: On you, Driver.
Federation Defenses (Male): The closest things we have to defensive positions are parking lots and sheds, what're we supposed to do against the Cascadian Military?!
Federation Defenses (Female): Pray for CAS.
Federation Defenses (Male): Line Charlie reporting in, the Cascadians have made it to land. Enemy composition is confirmed to be the Cascadian Marine Guard[note 1] Black Eagle Division, we need assistance[note 2] ASAP.
Mercenary Pilot (Male): [chuckles] I'm a little jealous we're not down on the ground, it seems like they don't even need the air support.
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Don't get cocky, we've got Feds inbound!
Federation Ground Reserve CO: There was no way we were going to be able to deny them landing at all, we need any and all air support.
K-9B | Bookie: K-9's on station, we'll do what we can.
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Roger all, appreciated.
K-9B | Bookie: If we had regular military forces out here, none of this would be happening.
K-9C | Cobb: None of this would be happening if the Federation didn't snowball half our damn Air Force into a dogfight.
Federation Defenses (Male): This is all we can do, take potshots at them and fall back when they get inside of our line!
Federation Defenses (Male): Keep it together, you're the section commander!
Federation Defenses (E-6): Hold down your sectors, if we can even stop their momentum for a second, that opens them up to the air support!
Federation Defenses (Male): They're here! On my three, shoot, shoot!
Federation Defenses (Female): Kravitz, open up on the MG!
K-9C | Cobb: Vita, this is an entire invasion force, we can't cover it all!
AWACS | Vita: Just do what you can.
K-9C | Cobb: [pause] You sound like my goddamned no-good husband, [sigh] shit.
Cascadian Marines (Male): Move it, these are the backwater troops we're dealing with, you have nothing to fear![note 3]
Federation Defenses (Male): Reports are coming through the enemy spearhead force composition specifically identifies as veterans from Cascadia's Peacekeeper deployment during Oceania, Crimson 1 deployed with them.[note 4]
Federation Ground Reserve CO: What about the aircraft overhead?
Federation Defenses (Male): No idea. All of them have the Round Table mark, though.
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Crystal Kingdom should've hunted down every last merc in the last war, damn it.
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Incoming planes. I thought we took out most of the airpower during that last furball?
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Some of us got too enthusiastic and pushed too far in and met these guys, we'll pick up their slack.
K-9D | Brick: I heard stories about mercenary pilots like these. Vita, are any of them true?
AWACS | Vita: Propaganda. Shoot them all down, you're better than them.
K-9B | Bookie: That storm on the horizon's looking nasty.
K-9C | Cobb: The weather or the invasion fleet?
K-9B | Bookie: Yeah.
Federation Defenses (Male): First defensive phase lines have fallen and we have reservists moving back!
Federation Ground Reserve CO: All units, all units, remember to pull back when defensive positions are compromised, the Federation needs you alive.
Cascadian Marines (Male): [laughs] The first defenders are already pulling back, guess we won't need those bombers after all.
Cascadian Marines (Male): Move it, keep it moving, get off the beachhead!
Federation Defenses (Male): Don't give up, we're not backing off that easily.
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Who's this Cascadian CO anyway? Faust? Why don't we have Elizabeth out here?
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Faust has sway in Independence Force HQ, [chuckle] think about how history will look on her, the first to invade the Federation.
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Fireteams Charlie through Foxtrot, move in and bolster Phase Line Yellow, use the trenches.
Federation Defenses (Male): Copy all, moving in.
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Where’s Division M, the armored?
Federation Defenses (Male): Their tanks were taken by regular forces and sent to Cascadia, they've only got rifles now.
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Damn it. Alright...fold them into the Epsilon's anti-tank defenses.
Federation Defenses (Male): We can put a dent into their offensive, but we can't do anything about those planes.
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Division K-9, we need you on top of the situation.
K-9C | Cobb: We're trying!
Cascadian Marines (Male): The wider their line, the thinner the defense! Shock and awe, Marines!
Cascadian Marines (Male): We're moving on defensive positions now, seems like they've only got old machine guns and anti-tank guns mostly, the most dangerous thing right now is their top cover.
Cascadian Marines (Male): Let the mercs handle it, keep pushing, there are only four of them, they can't be everywhere at once.
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Do we trust this General anyway? She used to gut mercs like us in the last war.
Mercenary Pilot (Male): [laughs] Don't worry, she hates Feds more.
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Enemy air is putting up a fight, this wasn't a part of the briefing.
K-9D | Brick: Their top cover is unorganized for now, try to pick 'em off before we provide support.
Federation Defenses (Male): We're barely holding out each time we fall back to new defensive positions, what's even the point?!
Federation Ground Reserve CO: I'm not gonna let us just stand and die, look outside and tell me we are prepared to hold any of that off.
Cascadian Marines (Male): Keep rolling steady, if you're bogged down, get crossfire up from the other elements!
Cascadian Marines (Male): What about those planes? We're getting strafed!
Cascadian Marines (Male): They can't hit us all, you think those planes have IFF targeting on foot soldiers?
Federation Defenses (Male): Ammo, I need ammo!
Federation Defenses (Female): Resupply got cut off.
Federation Defenses (Male): Damn it! Alright, we're falling back, then.
Cascadian Marines (Male): [grunts] Fix bayonets!
Mercenary Pilot (Male): The reservist planes are better than we expected.
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Why don't we have our gold-star pilots out here?
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Take it up with Stardust.
Federation Defenses (Male): Cascadians are taking losses, but they're not stopping their offensive!
Federation Ground Reserve CO: They have bodies to spare, we don't.
Cascadian Marines (Male): They built this trenchline in a week?!
K-9D | Brick: [chuckles] Thank your local union contractors.
Federation Defenses (Male): Don't shoot, don't shoot!
Federation Defenses (Female): Wh-What the? Get in here, man, [pants] what position are you from?!
Federation Defenses (Male): Line Alpha! God... God damn it, the Cascadians were everywhere, man, they're right on my ass!
Cascadian Marines (Male): Is that all you got?!
Cascadian Marines (Male): This is for my mom![note 3]
Cascadian Marines (Male): How does it feel, Fed, on your land bleeding your blood?
Cascadian Marines (Male): I'll send you back to the Dust![note 3]
Federation Defenses (Male): They're on the other side of the wall!
AWACS | Vita: Defensive lines keep falling. K-9, up the pressure.
K-9B | Bookie: Just short of bailing out and picking up a rifle, we can't give any more support, Vita!
Federation Ground Reserve CO: The Cascadians will open up a beachhead here by the end of the day...
Federation Defenses (Male): Should we start denial operations?
Federation Ground Reserve CO: No...even if we get driven off today, we'll be back soon enough...keep up the effort.
Cascadian Marines (Male): Force recon groups infiltrating now, Badger Black 1-6 out.
Federation Defenses (Female): It helps that half the reserve group are either old-timers from the last war or hunters themselves.
K-9D | Brick: Think we picked right being pilots, K-9?
K-9B | Bookie: "Serve your community" my ass, like we're doing a public service right now.
K-9C | Cobb: Driver's got the right idea, just keep fighting!
Spearhead force eliminated (Phase 1)
MISSION UPDATE
Mercenary AWACS: Bombers from Rowsdower AFB vectoring in hot. Don't be in the target zones, final warning.
AWACS | Vita: K-9, we have new contacts bearing 015, enemy bombers, take them out ASAP or the defensive lines will collapse.
K-9B | Bookie: One thing at a time, do we have any backup?!
AWACS | Vita: Negative, closest group is still a ways out.
Mercenary Bomber: We're gonna level these assholes!
K-9C | Cobb: Damned Cascadians.
Federation Defenses (E-6): Let them chase after us, as long as our air cover tears them up, we'll be fine!
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Start the mortar fire ASAP, draw them in and beat them down.
Mercenary Pilot (Male): AWACS, keep scaling up on fighters, the bombers might be in trouble.
Mercenary AWACS: Got it, I've had enough of these reservist pilots.
Mercenary Bomber: Why isn't the sky clear for our approach?!
Mercenary AWACS: Quit yelling, there are only four planes, proceed with the mission.
Mercenary Pilot (Male): Are you calling yourselves fighter pilots, reservists? Show us what you got.[note 3]
Federation Defenses (Male): The logistics trucks have shown up.
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Good, unload ammo and put the wounded on, we'll start sooner rather than later with the pullout.
Federation Defenses (Male): We have a long-range contact! Federation Navy!
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Thank God.
AWACS | Vita: Federation Navy contact? No, scratch that, incoming enemy battleship.
K-9C | Cobb: What? What's the problem?
AWACS | Vita: It was the Navy's most advanced battleship, but the Cascadians hijacked it, they're gonna start shelling the frontline!
- K-9A WSO | Eye-Tee: An inside job if you ask me.
Cascadia | Captain Woodward: Warship Eminent Domain getting on station, unlock all batteries and get ready for salvos on my command.
Cascadia | CIFS Eminent Domain (Male): General quarters, general quarters, all hands battlestations.
Cascadia | CIFS Eminent Domain (Male): CIC locked into overarching battlenet, fire support requests from force recon coming in now.
Cascadia | CIFS Eminent Domain (Female): Filter through, give me tracking numbers now on all viable fire missions.
Cascadia | Captain Woodward: [chuckles] And they told me naval bombardments were ancient history...
Cascadia | CIFS Eminent Domain (Female): Captain, all stations reporting ready.
Cascadia | Captain Woodward: Good, fire at will, start with tracking #1 and go up from there.
Federation Ground Reserve CO: Is that...? Son of a-[explosion]
AWACS | Vita: Enemy naval barrage just took out the forward command post!
K-9B | Bookie: Vita, from where K-9 is looking, we're not holding out against this.
Cascadia | CIFS Eminent Domain (Male): Mercenary forces reporting good effect on targets.
Cascadia | Captain Woodward: Send a forward picket to start closing the noose, tell Faust she'll owe me for this.
Cascadia | CIFS Eminent Domain (Male): Aye, Captain.
Cascadia | Captain Woodward: Keep up the barrage, if they don't stop fighting, I'll flatten the earth itself, this was always on them.
K-9B | Bookie: Vita, call the retreat, these odds aren't in our favor.
AWACS | Vita: Damn it, you're right. K-9, keep picking off forward units, I'll start organizing the retreat. Keep putting losses on them, they're not getting this beachhead[note 5] without their pound of flesh.
K-9D | Brick: It’s you or me, Cascadian.
K-9C | Cobb: I'll go until we're Winchester on ammo.
Federation Defenses (Male): The CO is dead, what do we do?!
Federation Defenses (E-6): Keep to the plan, keep falling back when we're overrun!
Federation Defenses (Male): We can't keep doing this forever, you idiot!
Cascadia | CIFS Eminent Domain (Female): Fire missions keep rolling in, we've broken their line.
Cascadia | Captain Woodward: Let's not pull any punches, then. It's a damn shame, though, we can't deal with their air support.
Federation Defenses (Male): That naval barrage took out all of our officers!
Federation Defenses (E-6): This is E-6 to anyone on this net, reaffirm chain of command and holdfast.
AWACS | Vita: All Ground Reserve Division units, key into my comms ASAP, information and orders will be coming down the line.[note 6]
Federation Defenses (Male): Some of us...will have to stay behind to cover the retreat.
Federation Defenses (E-6): Don't argue about it, just go!
Cascadian Marines (Male): You're dead, Fed, you hear me?!
Federation Defenses: [chuckles] Poke your head out, I couldn't get what you said!
New objective
AWACS | Vita: With enemy air cover and the advance being pushed off by the weather, we have only one issue, K-9: An enemy fleet and landing force has moved into blocking positions to cut off the retreat, deal with it.
K-9C | Cobb: Four planes against an entire fleet? We're better than we thought, but not that good.
PK Ulaanbaatar | Steel 1: You're good enough according to Crimson. This is Peacekeeping Squadron Steel vectoring in, sorry we're late, understandably, Crystal Kingdom is disorganized right now.
K-9D | Brick: We're not complaining if you're here to join.
PK Ulaanbaatar | Steel 1: Peacekeepers don't miss fights. K-9A, we'll fall in with you to take out this fleet. Steel, engage.
AWACS | Vita: K-9, destroy the fleet.
Cascadian Ship: Incoming fighters!
Cascadian Ship: AA and SAM stations tracking and online!
MISSION UPDATE
Cascadian Ship: Deal with them before we can box in the retreating forces!
Federation Defenses (Male): E-6, are you sure collapsing the front this fast is a good idea?[note 7]
Federation Defenses (E-6): The ships are one thing, but if I learned anything in the firm, it's that no one's going to gamble their gear fighting in a Magadane storm. Now hurry up, go...the storm will cover our retreat, just pray that K-9 can kill this fleet before we cross within their firing range.
Cascadian Ship: All hands, general quarters, general quarters!
PK Ulaanbaatar | Steel 1: Hit ‘em with fast passes, don't gamble your life on an[note 8] attack run.
Cascadian Ship: ID on the flights, it's Ulaanbaatar's Peacekeeping Squadron plus the reported reservist division.
Cascadian Ship: Damn Mongols and these dogs!
Cascadian Ship: It's the reservists who are giving us the most trouble the entire day, screw the Peacekeepers!
PK Ulaanbaatar | Steel 1: Why'd you come out all this way, Cascadians, what do you possibly think you can achieve an entire ocean away from your homeland?
K-9B | Bookie: You're right...what's going on? This can't just be a screen or a territory grab.
K-9C | Cobb: Last time I checked, we're not the strategists here, keep up the attack runs!
AWACS | Vita: Enemy fleet at 50% integrity.
Cascadian Ship: Damn them, we should've asked the Crown for help![note 9]
PK Ulaanbaatar | Steel 1: [grumbles] Kill them all, they're nothing without their Signatures.
K-9C | Cobb: What the hell are you talking about?
Sinking picket fleet
Cascadia | CIFS Eminent Domain (Female): Forward picket fleet lost...it was those fighters.
MISSION COMPLETE
Cascadia | CIFS Eminent Domain (Female): Your orders, Captain?
Cascadia | Captain Woodward: [sighs] I-
Cascadia HQ | General Faust: Do not concern yourself with this, Captain Woodward, head back to Cascadia and report back to General Headquarters...the Eminent Domain has done enough.
Cascadia | Captain Woodward: I lost good sailors today, General, I hope you know what you're doing in Magadan.
Cascadia HQ | General Faust: We're not just in Magadan, Captain, we're in the Federation. Proceed with fortification operations, we will light this frozen wasteland on fire...for Cascadia's sake of course.
Federation Defenses (E-6): Vita, the last forces are pulling out, we're in the clear, tell the pilots they saved our butts out here today.
AWACS | Vita: Roger that. K-9, Steel, we're in the clear, RTB.
PK Ulaanbaatar | Steel 1: [chuckles] The Cascadians don't know what it means to fight a war, after this, they will. K-9, we're needed elsewhere until the rest of the Federation Military can arrive in-region, impress me, Magadan needs new Peacekeepers. Peacekeeping Squadron Steel, RTB.
K-9C | Cobb: [sighs] Yeah, right, I'm not reupping on the next contract if this is how it's gonna go from now on.
AWACS | Vita: K-9, RTB.
Debriefing
AWACS | Vita: K-9, thanks to you, we inflicted heavy casualties against the Cascadians as they came ashore. It would've been near-impossible to stop them from landing; however, for what you and the defenders did, it was enough for now. With the Cascadians on the ground in-country, our only hope is to dig in, lick our wounds, and wait for reinforcements from the rest of the Federation to counterattack, be on standby, K-9.
