Eye-Tee is the occasional weapon systems officer of Driver, the leader of Federation Air Reserve Division K-9. She acquired her name from coworkers in her regular civilian job as an IT office professional - an occupational pun.[2]

Biography

Eye-Tee, in an Sk.25U, helped Driver engage Cascadian Independence Force invaders during Mission ASKAR-59 in the Cascadian Conflict.[3]

[note 1]

Two days after the invasion's end, Eye-Tee accompanied Driver again during Mission Telmort-00-Exil, during which she unwittingly noticed the cordium-tipped cruise missiles launched at Prospero to halt its liberation. While supporting engagement against the Cascadian White Fleet, she mocked both the CIF and Faust for their repeated defeats in the Magadan Invasion, their empty bark without bite, and said their (General Faust's included) children would have Federation citizenship regardless of their thought.

Once the fleet was defeated, however, she heard the General's motive rant and how the Federation's war would only hasten a terrible secret's utilization that would shatter world peace, then experienced the Cascadian Calamity Event.[4]

Personality and relationships

"How does it feel getting your asses kicked by a bunch of weekend warriors? You're all puff and no smoke! Like it or not, your kids are gonna be part of the Federation!"
― Eye-Tee to the Cascadian White Fleet and Faust[4]

Eye-Tee's work frustration and bad relationship with "unappreciative assholes" compels her enough to take military service over her day job, to the point she enjoys air combat with her frontseater.[2] When the going gets too risky, however, she can lash out at Driver and lose self-control.[5]

She may be a conspiracy theorist or one interested in them, as she thinks the hijacking of the FNS Jerusalem was deliberately planned by the Federation.[3] She is capable of biting speeches of mockery to enemies and is somewhat a Federation patriot.[4]

Behind the scenes

Cut dialogue would have given more depth to Eye-Tee, revealing her real name as Naren Fujio. She would have said she believed Driver to be a police officer or a fireman rather than a rally racer - the last occupation being a handwave of his need for a WSO as his wingmen discussed.

Later into the campaign, she would have teased Cobb for her perpetual grumpiness about service and made pre-takeoff quips, even cataloging K-9's real names (except Driver, which she already knows) for post-deactivation business connections.

She also would have envisioned moving up to Icarus Armories, which led to further chatter, and then addressed the new Calamity by stating her sensors were entirely fried.
