"Damn Mongols and these dogs!" - ― CIF sailors[1]
Federation Peacekeeping Squadron Steel is the Peacekeeper fighter squadron assigned to Ulaanbaatar, of whom its national representative, the Khan of Ulaanbaatar, is the squadron leader.
History
Steel was a late reinforcement to delaying the D-Day landing of the Cascadian Conflict's Magadan Invasion due to contending with Federation High Command disorganization, which had lasted for a month.[2] It then joined with Air Reserve Division K-9 to sink the Cascadian Independence Force picket fleet sent ahead of the main invasion force.
The Cascadian Coast Guard had trouble with the Federation air cover overhead, but put more toil with the reserve pilots due to the casualties they inflicted throughout the landing. Once the fleet was sunk, Steel was reassigned elsewhere while the rest of the Federation Military Forces took their time to deploy in-country to repel the rebels.[1]
The invasion was overturned thanks to K-9's efforts by and large. During Mission Kaibir-59, the last battle of the invasion, Steel requested permission to support the Federation offensive at Point Refuge, only for Captain Flowers to order them to stand by their map grids. Later on, however, Steel and PK Tanager (and elsewhere Crimson Team) were vectoring to the invasion fleet to ward them off, forcing their evacuation efforts to cease and giving K-9 and the others room to cleanse the box they created.
The Federation aces severely damaged the CIFS Eminent Domain, the flagship battleship of the CIF, pursuing it even after the onshore invaders' complete annihilation.[3]
