Sk.37 Decimator-B

The Sk.37 Decimator-B is a prototype aircraft. Compared to the older Sk.27 that it improves on at a high cost, it has significantly improved maneuverability and two more hardpoints, but sacrifices all air-to-ground special weapons (albeit adding an option for Medium Gunpods in their place). In general, it has the weakest arsenal of all of the prototypes, and should be ideally used only for air-to-air battles.

The Sk.37 was used by Crimson Team (mainly by more experienced members like Crimson 1, 5, and 7)[1] alongside the VX-23; in general, Federation Peacekeepers prefer this aircraft for dealing with aerial threats. Despite the craft's high instability and fragility, next-gen avionics and weapon systems have convinced observers of eccentric, skilled pilots able to take full advantage of this craft.[2]

Skins

  1. Blue and white woodland camouflage with grey stripes running along the wingtips under the roundel and grey airbrake, mercenary and Monarch markings.
  2. Three-tone lime green splinter camouflage, Federation Air Force markings. Seen throughout the campaign.
  3. Three-tone grey version of Skin 02, Federation Air Force markings; Frontline-59-utilized livery.
  4. Crimson Team parade colors. Light grey body with crimson wings and jagged crimson central fuselage, crimson stars with orange outlines on the dorsal surface. Black ventral surface. Federation Peacekeeper and Crimson Team markings. Seen in Machine of the Mantle.
  5. Skin 04 without the star patterns, Federation Peacekeeper and Crimson Team markings. Seen in Cold War.
  6. Skin 05 with dark grey and white jagged camouflage painted over it, Federation Peacekeeper and Crimson Team markings. Seen in Return.

History

Crimson Team flew Sk.37s throughout the Cascadian Conflict, one of them being shot down in Operation Guillotine[3] and eventually losing them all in Operation Recall.[4] In addition, the Federation deployed six of these aircraft in defense of Wai Mami Port during a Cascadian Independence Force-staged mercenary raid.[5] They also sent a four-plane flight in the Second Battle of Presidia, which was shot down.[6]

Mercenary pilots have access to the Sk.37, which they used during Operations Guillotine,[3] Blue Shelter (three accompanying the attack),[7] Welder (as a four-plane flight part of reinforcements gathered by Sicario Commander Arnold Frenken),[8] and Manifest Destiny.[6]

Trivia

  • Despite being based off the Su-37, including its thrust-vectoring nozzles and avionics, the vertical stabilizers, intakes, nose wheel, and radome resemble those seen on the regular Su-27.
  • Three parked Federation Sk.37s appear on the main menu, using a gold and brown camouflage variant of Skin 02 and 03 unattainable in-game.
